Frequently Asked Questions
What is the ultimate source of Toastmasters, the history and the world wide organization?
Toastmasters International -learn about all the Toastmasters organizations around the world!
Can I come by and checkout your club?
Visitors are always welcome, without reservations. In fact before you can join our club we suggest you attend as a visitor two or three times. Feel free to drop by! If you would like to speak to someone before you come, please contact Our VP of Membership with your your questions.
Can I learn more details about your club?
We established a Yahoo! Group for guests. We have posted information about our dues, comments from some of our members, a membership application, etc. We also use it to remind guests of upcoming events. If you'd like to know more, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TrafficGuest/
What is the difference of being a guest versus a member?
Most Toastmasters are guest to begin with. As guests, you can attend the different clubs to see which one you are most comfortable with. You can also participate in the Table Topic section of the meetings. When you find that you are interested enough in one club, you can become a member. As a member of Toastmasters, you pay an annual due to your club. Your club will get all the materials you need.
What kind of materials do I receive as a new member?
New members receive a New Member Kit, to start you on your way to success. Included in this kit is the Communication and Leadership manual, a workbook of 10 speech projects which will help you develop your speaking skills. Also included is the manual "Effective Speech Evaluation," which will help you provide feedback to others and to make the most of their evaluation of your efforts. "Your Speaking Voice" and "Gestures: Your Body Speaks" offer tips in two areas critical to effective speaking. Additionally, you will receive a Toastmaster magazine on a monthly basis.

Since the Toastmaster program is self-paced, how quickly you learn will depend on how much effort you put into it. Toastmasters International provides a variety of materials to help members in their self-development efforts. Be sure to speak to our VP of Education, an experienced Toastmaster who is well acquainted with these materials.
